Jenny Kuan, PhD—Associate Professor at California State University, Monterey Bay, and Managing Partner at être Venture Capital—explains the Silicon Valley venture capital model and her research on why collaboration lead to its success.

You will learn how women’s unique collaborative strengths position them to navigate, excel in, and transform the venture ecosystem.

INVESTOR GUIDE

Learn How to Invest in Venture Capital for Women

Monthly | Second Wednesday of the Month | 12 - 1:15pm

This course explains why women should invest in venture capital, how to evaluate a fund, and which documents to review before making an investment.

It covers how a standard VC fund is structured and operated, who qualifies to invest, and why an investment thesis matters.

You will also learn how funds target returns, as well as the fundamentals of capital calls and management fees. You’ll leave this course equipped to evaluate a fund and invest confidently as a limited partner.

Prerequisites: Venture Capital 101 and Learn How to Invest in Venture Capital

This program is for accredited investors and by invitation only.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission classifies accredited investors as:

  • Net worth over $1 million, excluding primary residence (individually or with spouse/partner)
  • Income over $200,000 (individually) or $300,000 (with spouse/partner) in each of the prior two years, and reasonably expect the same for the current year
